Master Bedroom

(The “master bedroom and ensuite together” is 36ft X 16ft (12m X 5.3m) of exotic opulence. There is a 16ft X 4ft (5.3m X 1.3m) balcony at each end overlooking the lake, and rear, hill-side, perennial rock gardens, respectively.)

The MBR, by itself, boasts 15ft (5m) of side-by-side large window and patio door for spectacular views. It is very comfortably furnished and decorated in an exotic African flavour, including a quality “queen-size” bed. The walls are western cedar, the ceiling bamboo, and the flooring wide plank boards. Double reading lights on the bed headboard provide another great getaway pastime. Will you turn on the elevated 50" Sony Grand Vega HDTV? Under the watchful eyes of the giraffe by the head of the bed, and under the magic spell of the waves endlessly lapping on the shore, you will surely enjoy restful nights! A mini kitchen is discreetly bedside for convenient evening refreshments and morning coffee. All bedding and accessories provided.

MBR Ensuite

Spacious bathroom in a “tropical sea-shore” flavour. Trendy walk-in shower with 3 heads/body washes with “grohe” plumbing. Clawfoot tub for deep relaxing baths. Vanity and toilet are in separate room within the ensuite. A “privacy filmed” patio door accesses the balcony. A spectacular view, even from in the bathtub! All towels, soaps, shampoos, Kleenex, etc., provided.

Guest Bedrooms (2 Upstairs)

2 “Canadiana” Guest Bedrooms are located off the upstairs balcony overlooking the Great Room. Both are very nicely & comfortably furnished and have “cottagey” hardwood flooring. The beds are double-size and all bedding, accessories and towels, etc, are provided. One BR has a sink & mirror.

Guest Bathroom ( 1 Upstairs)

Located in between the two guest bedrooms, this sound proofed, mostly cedar, 4 piece bathroom sports a “funky red” shower/tub enclosure! Soap, shampoo, toilet paper, Kleenex, mat, etc., provided.

Guest Bedroom (1 Main Level)

Large bedroom off the great room featuring “cottagey” hardwood flooring, cedar walls & ceiling. Very nicely furnished including queen-size bed with all bedding, towels, etc provided.

Ensuite

2-piece burgundy ensuite (pedestal sink & one-piece toilet) with granite flooring, marble wainscoting, butternut walls and cedar ceiling. Wow!

Living areas

Kitchen
Large 19’ X 16’ (6.3m X 5.3m), modern, (9’ ceilings, heated stone floors, honey-oak cabinetry, pot-lighted bulkheads over counters, ) beautifully decorated and fully equipped. Table seating for 2 or 3; fridge with ice & water dispenser, 2 jenn-air countertop top stoves, full-size built in oven, maytag dishwasher, 2 microwaves – 1 is convection, toaster; kettle, mixers, blenders,10-cup drip coffee machine, etc. Also, dinnerware, glasses, cutlery, gadgets, pots & pans, tea&hand towels/dish cloths, coffee filters, spices, all soaps & miscellaneous cleansers, etc., provided.

Dining Room
Very spacious 16’ X 16’ (5.3m X 5.3m), featuring refinished century old antique family furniture. Round oak dining table expands by 4 leaves providing seating for 8 – ample room for another table. Mini-gallery of European oil paintings, western cedar walls and ceilings, heated stone flooring, and a great view of the lake.

Porch (3-Season nautical getaway)
20’ X 12’ (6.6m X 4m) featuring, panoramic windows overlooking lake and north-side woodlot, western cedar walls and cathedral ceiling, huge California woodburning fireplace for the best in ambiance (& worst in heating efficiency), 2 oversized rattan “papasan” chairs for the ultimate in afternoon snoozing, quality large BBQ with built-in exhaust fan, and a cozy dining area for 2-4 people. The porch is handily accessed from inside via the dining room, or from outside, either by the front deck or a back door.

LakeSide(3), by its self, has >1400 sq’ (>470 sqm) of premium decking on all, but the north, sides of the cottage permitting you to chase the sun, or shade, at will. The complete lakefront including the boat (canoe) bay, and lower lawn, is privately yours too. Ample outdoor furniture is available including tables, lounge chairs, adirondacks, & straight-backed chairs. LS(3) has it’s own 8’ X 16’ (2.7m X 5.3m) dock with a heavy duty swim ladder. Drinking Water
All indoor water is either from a 350ft deep well, or the lake, or blended from both. It passes through elaborate sediment and charcoal filtering systems, a softener, after whcih it is purified via ultraviolet light. It is tested safe to drink and, in our opinion, it tastes just fine. This system can be seen in the laundry room.

Outside Shower
Including hot water, in the wooded area in between the cottages. (inspired from an overseas hotel experience). Its large (enough for 2), modern, clean & eco friendly.

Heating
You will certainly never get cold. Central forced air electric furnace. Heated slate floors in kitchen, living & dining rooms and MBR ensuite. 2 fireplaces and a woodstove.

Cooling
Air conditioning is really unnecessary at LakeSide. The cool breezes off the lake preclude summer over-heating. For those unusually long, hot, dog-days of summer, there are 10 strategically located ceiling fans and 4 patio doors for natural forced air circulation.

Telephone
Not long distance to Ottawa. Please use personal calling cards for long distance calls. Internet friendly for those bringing laptops.

Laundry
Quality Maytag Neptune washer & dryer, laundry tubs, iron and board. Soaps, softeners, stain removers, etc. provided. Consider heading back home with your laundry finished!

Buckingham Hospital
Hospital is 37 KM away with medical emergency facilities. Small health clinic in Val-des-Bois. Telephone “911” for any emergency.

Security
LS(3) has a monitored alarm system (for optional use). Every window and door has roll shutters, the ultimate in security, privacy, and darkness (for sleeping in)

Parking
Ample good parking. Adequate for a small conference/workshop.
