Location
Lac de l?Argile, is approximately 80km (1-hour) north-east of Ottawa (in western Quebec), on Hwy 309, past Buckingham & Notre Dame de la Salette, and 3 KM before Val-des-Bois. It is, by far, the largest lake in the area, and while motor are boats permitted, it is also one of the quietest. Only about 40% of the shoreline is developed and the lake is now ?closed?. The serenity and quietness, even on summer week-days, makes it very difficult to believe that you?re really here in prime season. Although this is definitely the French-speaking area of Canada you will find that most locals speak both English and French so it's fun to visit the corner store - Depanneur.
Directions
Cross any bridge from Ottawa to Gatineau. Take Autoroute #50 east from Gatineau to exit #174 - Chemin Doherty (2 exits past Buckingham). Then take Hwy# 309N, past Notre Dame de la Salette. Our lakeside turn-off road is 3 KM before Val-des-Bois.
We'll email a very good map and supporting written directions once you book, or before if you would like a preview visit.
